Cork, cork fabric or cork leather is a natural product and possesses unique properties.

It is considered a new trend material and a perfect vegan leather alternative.

Cork stands for sustainability because cork is a renewable resource. It is harvested from the bark of the cork oak tree.
Peeling the bark from a cork tree does not harm the tree. The tree can only be peeled for the first time after about 25 years, and thereafter only every 9 years.

The vegan natural material is unique in every single piece due to its individuality.

The fabric is dimensionally stable and elastic, has a warm, soft feel, is lightweight and supple, yet robust and tear-resistant. It also has a scratch-resistant surface, good abrasion resistance, is water-repellent and stain-resistant.

Cork, a renewable resource, is obtained by peeling the bark. The harvested cork is then boiled, pressed into large cork balls, and subsequently peeled into millimeter-thin cork sheets. These are then fixed to a backing material.

However, the actual process of cork extraction is significantly more complex and time-consuming than described here.

Our vegan and therefore cruelty-free cork leather is applied to a fabric backing, which provides additional reinforcement. This makes it very comfortable to wear.

Cork is very robust and doesn't break easily. It is antistatic, odorless, hypoallergenic, recyclable, environmentally friendly, warm, soft, and colorfast. Furthermore, cork doesn't fray.

Similar to animal leather, cork leather also develops its own patina over time.

Cork is primarily harvested in Portugal. We also source our cork from Portugal. This eliminates the need for costly long-distance imports, which is also environmentally friendly.

The pattern was created in collaboration with the Austrian textile designer Regina Adelmut – always with the aim of making the aprons so well thought out and appealing that they are used willingly and, above all, for a long time and bring much joy.
