Espresso distribution tool for loosening and distributing coffee grounds before tamping
The Hauck Coffeenizer Stirring Stick WDT is available in walnut or coloured multilayer wood. Eight 0.35 mm stainless-steel needles are designed to break up small clumps and distribute the coffee grounds more evenly in the portafilter.
The set consists of the handle with needles and a conical stand. The wood finish highlights the natural grain and provides a comfortable feel.
Application
After grinding, the coffee grounds are gently stirred with the needles. This can break up clumps and reduce local density differences in the coffee bed before tamping. WDT is a preparatory step and does not guarantee that channeling will be completely prevented.
If you use a dosing funnel, it can remain on the portafilter while stirring to help keep coffee grounds from falling over the edge.
